Trump’s Imperialism: U.S. Foreign Policy Adopts a Fascist Character By David Starr   In his utter insanity, Donald Trump has been threatening a host of countries with potential military force. Canada, Mexico, Panama, China, Greenland. Recently, the latest target for threats has been Venezuela.    The U.S. empire has sent three war ships accompanied by 4,000 marines near Venezuela. The Trump regime’s threats reflect the old imperialism of the empire, only being more direct and thus taken on fascist characteristics.   On August 7, 2025 regime attorney general Pam Bondi  announced  an increase in a bounty on Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro to $50 million. Bondi declared that Maduro was a “narco-terrorist.” The excuse this time for threatening another nation was to fight “drug cartels.” None of the sweet talk about freedom and democracy.   White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt  added to the propaganda , saying that the Trump regime ...
The Russia-Ukraine War: Jeffrey Sachs Knows the Root Causes By David Starr   Political economist Jeffrey Sachs has a deep understanding of the Russia-Ukraine war and is thus knowledgeable on the root causes of the conflict. Sachs, however, has pretty much gone against the current of the major support for Ukraine and the condemning of Russia’s invasion as an act of aggression.    Sachs’s recent speech at the European Parliament  lays out in detail  the how’s and why’s of the conflict. Russia has been no exception. One can go back to the 1890s, for example, and see the Old United States display overt racism in its  foreign policy as it expanded  across the world. This before there was ...
Medea Benjamin Speaks Out By David Starr   For years, Medea Benjamin has been on front lines of activism, championing various causes. And she is not stopping. The conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is particularly an issue Benjamin puts her full efforts into.    Benjamin, of course, has her detractors. Those hardline Israeli supporters who have  exhibited behavior that’s drenched in hysteria, lies, propaganda, threats, and all-around nastiness. While pro-Palestinian supporters have expressed their share of outrage, their reasons are  quite different  from that of the hardliners. The former are against Israel going way beyond self-defense to try and impose a “Greater Israel,” characterized by myths of religious supremacy, ultranationalism and racism. The latter arrogantly ignore the suffering and deaths of Palestinians and actually cheer on such carnage.   One detractor was typical in its arrogance against Benjamin and the opposition to I...
