  GI Rebellion: Helping to Stop the United States as an Empire By David Starr   In strong opposition to the Iran War, and in turn opposing the Trump regime’s actions,  U.S. military veterans protested  at the Cannon House Office Building Rotunda on Capitol Hill on April 2.   This is one example out of many of GI rebellions. The veterans who participated were not screwing around and looked determined to get their point across. China: the “Sick Man of Asia” is No More By David Starr   China has come a long way over the years, being brutally exploited as a virtual colony by the Western powers and brutality attacked by imperial Japan before its 1949 revolution in which the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was born.   Before 1949 China  was called  the “Sick Man of Asia.”  For example,  Britain became a significant influence in China which led to a series of military conflicts from 1839 to 1842. The Qing dynasty was in power at the time and instituted a ban on the importation of opium, which British merchants were bringing in.    This resulted in the First Opium War between Britain and China, whereby the British defeated Chinese forces and in the aftermath demanded ”compensation” for British merchants.   The Philippines: Freeing a Vassal Nation Controlled By the U.S. Empire By David Starr   It has gone on for too long. The United States empire has had a tight grip on the Philippines since the late 1890s.   During that era, which U.S. leaders and their supporters intoxicated themselves with  Manifest Destiny , claiming that the Filipinos were unfit for self-government, there were efforts to help the “little brown brothers” get Christianized (as if Spanish Catholicism was not enough) and to “lift them up” in order to “civilize” them.   To start out, the U.S. empire did not exactly bring freedom and democracy to the Philippines. The Philippine-American War was a bloody and barbaric conflict, with about  650,000 Filipinos killed . Today, this would constitute attempted genocide.   Trump and Hegseth’s Fascistic Fanaticism By David Starr   Incompetent, dumb, the epitome of stupidity…and dangerous. Those are a few negative terms that can accurately describe wannabe tyrant Donald Trump and the Department of War Crimes head Peter Hegseth.   For anyone who is sane, Trump and Hegseth’s war against Iran  violates international law  as well as the  U.S.’s own laws . And it’s not really surprising since U.S. presidents and their supporters have violated these laws for decades when imposing the U.S.’s imperial foreign policy. Especially against countries that are considered to be part of the Global South.   It is past overdue to get rid of the Trump regime.
