  Profiting Off of Death and Suffering: The Merging of the Arms Industry and the U.S. Government   By David Starr   The United States’ imperial foreign policy has been evident ever since day one; but especially starting with the Gilded Age and the arrogant doctrine of Manifest Destiny of the 1890s – early 1900s. The imperial “cause” continued through the decades leading up to today.    And today, the U.S. arms industry and the U.S. Congress have a reciprocal relationship. Because of this relationship, it can be said truthfully that members of Congress have  profited off of the arms industry  in, for example, the realm of foreign policy.    The Russia-Ukraine conflict has presented yet another opportunity for profiteering off of war. The arms industry is certainly making big bucks, with policies that fuel the conflict with the selling of an array of weaponry.   The Madness of Marjorie Taylor Greene By David Starr   Plenty of epithets can describe Marjorie Taylor Greene, and with good reason. Someone who accuses Jews of using space lasers to start wild fires in California is mad and in the habit of saying ridiculous things.    And that ain’t all.  Greene called Washington, D.C. a “gulag.” If only she knew what a gulag really is, given the consequences of Stalinism. Greene wallows in ignorance.   Greene also made a remark about Nancy Pelosi’s “Gazpacho Police.” It’s a pathetic play on the word Gestapo. (Gazpacho is actually a cold soup.) Greene rhetorically accuses these “police” of spying on Congressional members.    Vice President Kamala Harris was also a target. Harris said that people of color are impacted more by natural disasters and are “impacted by issues that are not of their own making.” Greene remarked in a Tweet that “Hurricanes don’t discriminate.
