Right-wing Snowflakes: the Ultimate in Racism, Hypocrisy and Intolerance By David Starr Rather than confront the darker side of the United States and learn how the present has been shaped by past actions, there are those within the U.S. population who refuse, or are afraid of, learning about inconvenient truths. Instead, they dwell in the past, trying to revive the old United States in an effort to be exceptional, to be ultranationalists. There are white folks who are offended by discussing inconvenient truths like racism, among other “taboo” subjects. They don’t want their children to feel uncomfortable about having an honest examination of the USA’s past and its connection to the present. One of the “taboo” subjects that fire up the right-wing is respecting the rights of the LGBT community. Based on religious fanatism, they are dead set in shutting out this demographic. If they are challenged for their intolerance, they pathetically try to play the victim. T...

The Author

In 1986 while living in Hawai'i, I acknowledged my interests in political and social issues. I became active, joining such groups as the Latin American & Caribbean Solidarity Association (LACASA), Hawai'i Union of Socialists (HUS), and Ka Lehui Hawai'i (The Nation of Hawai'i). I also created "Voices of Change," a publication which came out during the 1990s, as well as getting published in the Honolulu Weekly and Toward Freedom. Now Connecticut-based, I've published articles and commentary in "Reader Supported News," "The Daily Kos" and have been published in the "LA Progressive" and "Covert Action Magazine."

StarrNarrative - Introduction

This blog is called "StarrNarrative" for the following reasons. 1) It's a play on words for my last name. 2) Narrative is another word for story, report and chronicle. As the sub head indicates, it's observations, commentary and news from a Left perspective. Since Left/Progressive sources hardly (if at all) get published in the corporate media, this blog is another source to bring out some inconvenient truths that are virtually absent from the media; truths which may be belittled or offend. It's to get the public exposed to alternative information, a necessary endeavor.
