Israel May Become Nonexistent for Its Aggression, and It’s Israel That is to Blame
By David Starr
Critics opposing Israel say that its military actions have as a result created one of the worst wars in the 21stcentury. It’s just as bad as WWII because of Israel’s own Holocaust against Palestinians, committing war crimes such as attempted genocide and ethnic cleansing. And Israel’s fascist leaders, and their supporters, remain unapologetic, still continuing its barbaric actions against not only Palestinians, but also neighboring countries.
A major factor imposed for Israel’s objectives is oppressing others for not succumbing to Israel’s myths of religious supremacy. Believing unproven stories in the Bible, many Israelis want to impose a “Greater Israel” in the Middle East. This, obviously, is a dangerous idea and will only cause more tensions and hardships in the region.
But behind Israel’s actions is the United States empire. Israel is a spoiled child of Uncle Sam, receiving enormous quantities of U.S. aid for decades. The military aid has amounted to billions a year. Israel is thus propped up by the empire, as well as its western allies.
Any criticism of Israel over the years has resulted in a backlash from its hardline supporters. Several “cards” of accusations have been used in a reactionary and hysterical fashion. Perhaps the most used are the words “anti-Semitic” and anti-Semitism. It is true that Jews need to be concerned about becoming victims of right-wing characters like Nazis, fascists and white supremacists. The reemergence of the right is a threat that has proven, for example, the Trump regime’s fascist and Nazi-like intents.
Other accusations include “terrorist,” Hamas-supporter,” even using the ridiculous word “Nazi” to describe Palestinian supporters. The latter are far from being Nazis. They have been concerned about basic rights, violations of international law, and being empathetic to the Palestinians. The word “Nazi” is reserved for Israeli leaders and their supporters, as well as the Trump regime and its supporters, if they still support the polices of both.
One thing that is usually ignored by hardline Israeli supporters is the fact that many Jews have come out and opposed Israel; if not that, hardliners would call them “self-hating jews.” The accusations are meaningless and hypocritical.
To reiterate, Israel has been conducting the worst war in the 21st century. There is also the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but if one compares the historical conditions and reasons for these wars, one would find that they differ.
For Russia, the U.S./NATO alliance made a solemn promise to Makhail Gorbachev not to expand eastward after the dissolving of the Soviet Union. What did the alliance do? It lied and proceeded to expand into Eastern Europe and other former socialist countries.
The deceit was not surprising, especially where the U.S. empire is concerned. After the dissolving of the USSR, U.S. leaders, imitating past leaders, saw an opportunity to continue where it left off before there was a Soviet Union. In the 1890s, for example, the empire established itself as a world power, taking the former Spanish colonies, U.S. leaders claiming that the native peoples in those colonies were unfit for self-governance. The racism was at a fever-pitch, more overt than today.
Eventually the USSR was established in 1917 and for 74 years was a Cold War rival to the U.S., the former curbing U.S. expansion to a degree. Of course, that tragically fell apart after 1991. Since then, the U.S. empire proclaimed that it “defeated communism” and continued with its imperial foreign policy. Then, gradually, there was the expansion into the former socialist countries, where the empire sent weapons to those countries. These weapons are now near Russia’s borders and are aimed at the former Soviet Republic.
The alliance wanted to take over Ukraine and established a military build-up in that country. The goal was, and is, to turn Ukraine into a market satellite, similar to other countries that have been dominated by U.S. imperialism, especially in the Global South. Because of this, and the lies coming from the west, Russia was provoked. U.S. leaders do not hide their desire to split up Russia into weak nation-states. Russia, however, has resisted, and is a nuclear power, which makes it difficult for the west to defeat it. With the alliance’s provocations and attempts at conflict, Russia invaded Ukraine, its neighboring country. It’s not to say that it’s outright justifiable, but it was a response to the west’s hostility and lies.
Israel, established in 1948, was immediately taken over by the Zionist movement, a political and ultranationalist entity. It proceeded to force Palestinians off the land they inhabited for generations. At the time, Palestinians made up 90% of the population. The Zionist government and its supporters forced out about 750,000 Palestinians in what the latter called “The Nakba,” or catastrophe. Since then, Israel has gradually stolen Palestinian land and has treated them as being “inferior,” which means that Israel meted out harsh treatment against them.
Hardline Israel supporters have claimed that the conflict started when Hamas attacked Israel in October of 2023. This is of course a lie, since the conflict has been going on for over 70 years when it started with The Nakba. While the Holocaust against Jews during WWII was inexcusable, Israeli leaders and their supporters have ironically imitated the Nazis with its constant military aggression, which has killed well over 50,000 Palestinians, 90% of them civilians which include many women and children.
Drawing a comparison between fascist Israeli leaders and their supporters with Nazis is not far-fetched. To repeat, this war has been one of the worst in the 21st century. Because of Israel’s Nazi-like behavior, it has been condemned by many nations worldwide and now has a very sordid reputation. Its leaders, like Netanyahu, Smotrich and Ben-Gvir are considered to be war criminals by the international courts, and many people around the globe. The exception has been western leaders, where for decades have faithfully defended Israel. And they still defend it, in the face of attempted genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Joe Biden and Donald Trump have shamefully lent their support, providing weapons to Israel while it commits war crimes. Biden called himself a Zionist, which only adds to his shameful support of Israel. Trump is simply insane and continues Biden’s objective of supplying weapons to Israel. There is bi-partisan support from Republicans and many Democrats to support Israel, and in the process have received huge amounts of campaign cash from entities like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), virtually an arm of the Israeli government, being very influential in deciding policy toward Israel in the U.S. Congress and the presidency.
Israeli leaders and their supporters, in Israel and in the west, have constantly accused Palestinians and neighboring countries of wanting to destroy Israel, a lot of it hysterical propaganda.
But its Israel’s objectives and policies that have been a major factor in fueling tensions in the Middle East. When it comes down to it, rather than Palestinians and neighboring countries being a threat to causing Israel’s demise, it’s Israel itself that is ensuring this with its decades-long behavior.
Israel continues to go down a path of eventual nonexistence, and it only has itself to blame.
