Is the Trump Regime on the Same Gutter Level as Nazi Germany?

By David Starr

There have been comparisons between the Trump regime and the regime in Nazi Germany and, at least to some degree, the comparisons are accurate.

Like the Nazi regime during 1930s Germany and World War II, the Trump regime has been grossly militaristic, racist and has had extermination as a goal. The Nazis were more outspoken about these things but the Trump regime, hiding behind a veneer of false justification, has imitated their tactics and has a similar long-term goal.

The comparisons have been evident for years now. For example, The Guardian published a piece in June 2024, titled “The Reich Stuff – What Does Trump really Have in Common With Hitler?” Quoting writer David Smith, “When Donald Trump shared a video that dreamed of a ‘unified reich,’ if he won the US presidential election, and took nearly a full day to remove it, the most shocking thing was how unshocking it was.

“Trump has reportedly said before that Adolph Hitler did ‘some good things,’ echoed the Nazi dictator by calling his political opponents ‘vermin’ and says immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country…’ Yeah, the similarities are there with just this small example.

Of course there’s more: Mother Jones published a piece in February 2026 titled, “The US Government Will Not Stop Sharing Nazi Propaganda.” Digital producer San Van Pykeren writes, “…official accounts from the Department of Homeland Security, the White House and other government agencies have adopted a distinct voice online. The posts look like memes, utilizing dramatic AI-generated art, general patriotic slogans, and cinematic language about ‘defending the homeland’ and shaping America’s future.

“But of you look closer, a pattern emerges.

“Many of these phrases, images and attached media aren’t just regular social media content. They repurpose language, symbolism, and cultural references with direct connections to neo-Nazi and white supremacist movements.

“…DHS accounts shared a post with a song titled ‘We’ll Have Our Home Again’ by the Pine Tree Riots. And it’s easy to see that some of these posts imitate slogans nearly identical to those used by Hitler and the Nazi Party. One of the more brazen examples is from the Department of Labor. It features a bust of George Washington super-imposed over a montage of images the administration regularly use to evoke white Western culture with the caption ‘One People One Homeland, One heritage,’ [a] resemblance to Hitler’s infamous slogan ‘One People, One Country, One Leader.’

“Individually, each post could easily be dismissed, but taken together, they seem to form something more deliberate: a stream of repurposed Nazi propaganda for the everyday person’s feed.”

And still more: PBS News published Trump’s full statement of the Iran Attacks on his so-called “Truth Social.”

Here are a few examples:

“…the United States military began major combat operations in Iran.” Trump goes on to say that the objective was to stop the “Iranian regime” from threatening the “American People.” He labeled it “a vicious group of very hard terrible people.”

Trump adds that the “Iranian regime” has “waged an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder…”

Meanwhile, what has Trump done? Wage an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder. The hypocrisy is so damn obvious.

Trump also says that “the regime has armed, trained and funded terrorist militias that have soaked the earth with blood and guts.”

Trump goes on to appeal to the Iranian people, which is a joke and full of lies. “America is backing you with overwhelming strength and devasting force. Now is the time to seize control of your destiny, and to unleash the prosperous and glorious future that is close within your reach. Do not let it pass.”

Considering his incompetence, Trump probably had someone write this statement for him.

On Secular Talkthere was a segment with a title that included Trump’s statement that “I’m Killing Them!” Hitler could not have said it worse.

For a further comparison of the Trump regime and Nazi Germany, the following are quotes from Hitler himself:

“The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than a small one.”

“Who says I’m not under the special protection of God?”

“It’s not truth that matters, but victory.”

“Hate is more lasting than dislike.”

The Trump regime’s rhetoric has not been that direct sometimes, compared to its actions, which mirror Nazi Germany.

Now, here’s quotes from the Department of War Crimes head Peter Hegseth:

Regarding the Iran War, Hegseth said his desire is to “crush the enemy.”

Hegseth compared Iranian government officials to “barbaric savages” who are “desperate and scrambling.”

A religious fanatic, Hegseth quoted biblical passages: “Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress. My stronghold and my deliverer, my shield whom I take refuge.”

In a gross perversion, Hegseth sees the Iran War as a sign of Armageddon. How many times have religious fanatics appealed to this type of devastation?

Regarding Israel, Hegseth claimed, “We share faith, we share history, we share freedom…Israel is enemy number one for both Islamists and international leftists – which is reason alone to love it.” But Israel is not exactly being loved by many worldwide.

In conclusion, the similarities between the Trump regime and Nazi Germany are evident. Especially in regards to actions. Both are grotesque.
