Venezuela is Prepared to Defend Itself Against U.S. Aggression

By David Starr

The Trump regime has shown yet again its fondness for fascism…or more directly put, Nazism.

Trump, his billionaire parasites and fellow Nazis have been using Nazi tactics based on Project 2025, a right-wing agenda that is an attempt to bring back the worst of the United States. And it does have similarities with Nazi Germany.

The Trump regime has also showed its fondness for “regime change,” or an aggressive, imperialist foreign policy. Venezuela is one of the targets for potential regime change based on a lie: combatting “narco-terrorists” in the Bolivarian nation. Its president Nicolas Maduro has been labeled a “narco-terrorist” by Trump mouthpiece Pam Bondi.

But, again, the regime is peddling lies like a psychopath. No evidence has been presented that Venezuela is practicing a drug conspiracy against the United States. That brings up the four boats consisting of Venezuelan citizens that were blown up by the U.S. military. No evidence that they were drug traffickers, but even if they were, no exercising of due process which is normal procedure.

The latest strike resulted in four deaths, again the excuse was stopping narco-traffickers. And again, no evidence. But that didn’t stop the U.S.’s crazed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth from justifying it: “The strike was conducted off international waters just off the coast of Venezuela while the vessel was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics–headed to America to poison our people.” The illegalities are practically out in the open. The Trump regime is hardly hiding its true intentions.

What the Trump regime did was an example of cold-blooded murder of those citizens. This of course violates international law and even U.S. law. But the regime is oblivious to complying with any civilized behavior.

Venezuela, however, is not what it used to be: a market satellite under the thumb of Uncle Sam. Venezuela, with this Bolivarian Revolution launched by former President Hugo Chavez, is a sign that the world is changing. Venezuela not only shows defiance against the U.S. empire it is prepared to defend itself from any potential hostility that the Trump regime has in mind.

Venezuela, though, has needed assistance to challenge U.S. aggression. Enter Russia and China, both of whom are nuclear powers and thus present a threat to U.S. imperialism. And both are not screwing around. China and Russia have warned the U.S. empire not to exert any hostility.

Backed by China and Russia, Venezuela has prepared its defenses against potential U.S. aggression. Venezuela has deployed about four million citizens in militias and the military. A report from Prensa Alternativa tells of Venezuela sealing off its coast to stop a potential invasion.

Venezuelan officials have understandably condemned U.S. aggression. Foreign Minister Yvan Gil spoke at the United Nations (UN) and asserted, “To all this we now add an absolutely illegal and immoral military threat that violates the UN Charter and Venezuela’s rights as a sovereign state. Venezuela fights for a world of justice and equality, without colonial empires.”

Further, “Venezuela is part of a multi-polar world that has been born. Our government ratifies its commitment to international law and a world where Global South countries have a right to a peaceful future.”

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has offered support, calling U.S. aggression “unjustified and unacceptable.”

Whether Democrat or Republican, U.S. foreign policy has had a tradition of invading, occupying and bombing other countries, particularly in the Global South. The Democrats at times have done it with some lip service about being concerned for the victims. But as the genocide in Gaza shows, former U.S. president Joe Biden expressed concern for the Palestinians and yet continued to give Israel more weapons to kill more Palestinians.

As for the Republicans, they have been aggressive with foreign policy for over a 100 years. They resort to hysterical saber-rattling to scare and fuel anger in the population for the “undesirables.”

The Trump regime added to its insanity with a “pep talk” to U.S. military generals and officers. Hegseth was preaching total insanity while Trump defended it. Rather than applause, all they got was a tense silence in the audience. The latter are fed up.

So, the words fascism and Nazism both apply to the words and actions of a psychotic regime. But the world is changing. Venezuela is proof of that.
