Zionism: An Ultranationalist Perversion

By David Starr

While it is true that many Jews suffered under the Holocaust, Israel has taken Nazi-like methods and, in turn, has caused suffering for Palestinians. Call it a tragic irony.

The main culprit for this is Zionism, which is not a religion but a political entity and is characterized by religious fanaticism, fascism (or even a form of Nazism) and the myth of being the “Chosen People.” And all this for the “glorification” of imposing a “Greater Israel.”

For Palestinians, since 1948, it has been a nightmare. The United Nations published a report showing a historical timeline on the question of Palestine.

In 1885, the term Zionism originated from a Viennese writer named Nathan Birnbaum. Eventually, in 1896, Theodor Herzl founded the Zionist movement and called for the “restoration of the Jewish state.”

Enter the British empire which enacted the Balfour Declaration and the result was a “national home” for the Jewish people. Palestinians, who made up 90% of the population in Palestine, didn’t really have a say in this decision.

In November 1947, the United Nations General Assembly enacted resolution 181(II) which seeked to establish both a Jewish nation and an Arab nation in Palestine.

In May 1948, Israel declared independence but did not adhere to the UN General Assembly resolution. Zionist settlers proceeded to attack Palestinians, which began the Palestinian “Nakba,” or catastrophe. From there, Zionists continued their attacks, killing or displacing many Palestinians. And with that, Zionists gradually stole Palestinian land leading up to the present time.

Palestinians rebelled periodically, with several intifadas, or protests.

In the face of Israel’s brutal treatment of Palestinians for about 70 years, Hamas launched an attack on Israel in October 2023, resulting in 1,200 Israeli deaths. Israel responded, going way beyond self-defense, committing an attempted genocide that killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, about half of them children.

Many jews have opposed Israel’s attacks, for example Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Stefanie Fox, Executive Director for JVP, wrote a report that stands against Israel’s aggression. To quote: “It is not Palestinians who have chosen the language of violence for this land. It is the Israeli government and the United States government that have created a state of violence.”

And Fox gives an example of U.S. support for the attempted genocide, quoting Nazi Lindsey Graham, “I am with Israel. Do whatever the hell you have to do to defend yourself. Level the place.” Similar to Zionists, Graham has a perverted mindset when interpreting what self-defense is.

In conclusion, Fox writes, “’Never again’ means standing up for Palestinian people. ‘Never again’ means this very moment.”

What are Zionists themselves saying about the Israeli-Palestinian war? Here are some morbid examples:

The first comes from Law for Palestinequoting Israeli legislators:

• Yoav Gallant, Minister of Defense – “We will end things inside of Gaza…I have removed all restraints. [A]ttack everything.”

• Benjamin Netayahu, Prime Minister – “Gaza is the city of evil, we will turn all the places in which Hamas deploys and hides into ruins. We will everywhere and with full power.”

• Isaac Herzog, President – “It’s an entire nation out there that is responsible. The rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved. It’s absolutely not true.”

The next quotes were published by the Zionist Observer:

• Israel Katz, Minister of Defense – “Another terror tower collapses in Gaza and joins the hundreds that collapsed before it.”

• Bezalel Smotrich, Finance Minister – “We are eliminating ministers, clerks, money changers, and key figures in Hamas’ economic and administrative apparatus.”

• Alex Stien, Supreme Court Justice – “From a legal perspective, it is clear that the state of Israel is not obliged to provide electricity to the Gaza Strip…”

And here are quotes from Ad-Awda:

• Vladimir Jabotinsky, author of The Iron Wall, 1923 – Zionist colonization must be terminated or carried out against the wishes of the native population.”

• Menahem Begin, Prime Minister, 1982 – [The Palestinians are] “…beasts walking on two legs.”

• Ehud Barak, Prime Minister, 2000 – “We thought that instead of 200 Palestinian fatalities, 2,000 would put an end to the fighting at a stroke, we would use much more force.”

There are, of course, plenty more sadistic remarks coming from Zionists. The above are samples.

There was a segment on Secular Talk titled, “Zionists Have Completely Lost Their Minds.” Host Kyle Kulinski provides the details.

It’s amazing that Zionists have not learned from the past, that is, the Holocaust. Instead, they commit their own Holocaust against Palestinians. Then again, maybe it’s not so surprising.
