Censoring CECOT Savagery

By David Starr

The Trump regime has been on a barbaric binge with policies that have blatantly violated international law and the United States’ own laws. The victims have been both foreign and domestic, but with a focus on “undesirables” who have firmly opposed the consequences of the regime’s policies.

Immigration is of course a hot issue and Trump and his fellow Nazis have been lawless in carrying out the deportation of those who are not, or don’t act like, “True Americans,” which are code words for white supremacy.

The establishment media has played a rather spineless role in directly calling out the Trump regime and its atrocities. But Trump does not tolerate any criticism or opposition to his demented words and actions.

One major example was the original intention of CBS’s 60 Minutes to air a segment on the deportation of migrants in the U.S. to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT prison. CECOT is a Spanish acronym for the Terrorism Confinement Center, which those operating it can be called terrorists themselves.

But just hours before airtime, CBS pulled the segment, i.e., censored it. Bari Weiss, editor-in-chief of CBS made the decision; or the decision was made in the shadows for Weiss by the Trump regime.

Weiss criticized the segment for not being objective enough, and wanted someone from the Trump regime to be included to show “both sides.” She had regime Nazi Stephen Miller in mind, whose middle name could just as well be “Liar.” Miller is already discredited.

On Instagram, CBS claimed that the segment would be put on air in a future broadcast. But there was really nothing wrong with the original segment. It did bring out facts that the regime didn’t want publicized. So, there’s the possibility it will be reedited. Or more accurately put, whitewashed.

On Secular Talk, host Kyle Kulinski provides details of the censorship of the original segment, and showing it as it was spread all over social media after being leaked from a Canadian TV station.

The ACLU published a petition with some background information about the illegal deportation of immigrants to CECOT, which stated:

“The Trump administration has wrongfully deported countless people without due process to CECOT, a prison in El Salvador notorious for torture. Now, despite court orders, President Trump is refusing to bring them home.

“This is a pattern of outrageous abuse and overreach by this administration. Hundreds of Venezuelan immigrants have been taken from their homes and shipped to this Salvadoran prison with no hearing, no review – and the administration has ignored the court orders demanding their return and ordering the flights to stop.

No person should be deported to face torture, and no one should be disappeared and denied the ability to contact their families or a lawyer. Tell Congress: Demand President Trump bring our people home.”

In addition to the CECOT scandal, Trump has had the nerve to come out and say that the oil and resources in Venezuela are the possessions of the U.S. empire. So, the real reasons for the Trump regime’s imperial goals have been revealed by Trump himself.

The Trump regime has failed miserably in trying to impose its policies. CECOT is one more failure. But there already has been cause and effect, and there will continue to be so.
