ICE Crimes: First They Came for the Immigrants & Muslims, Now They’re Coming for Anyone Who Resists (Except “True Americans”)
By David Starr
The comparison of today’s United States with Nazi Germany is becoming more obvious. Anyone who even speaks against the Trump regime is a target for ICE (Insidious Criminals of Excess). It started with people of color and it continues, but it’s apparent that they will kill U.S. citizens who happen to be white and resist ICE intimidation.
The biggest story nowadays is the killing of a white female, who was a U.S. citizen, by an ICE thug. Renne Good was a mother and wrote poetry. The Rational National gives somber details about this crime.
ICE is part of an objective to turn the United States into a white supremacist utopia. And that is fueled by the Trump regime.
The American Postal Workers Union (APWU) published a statement about Renee Good’s death and the fear and outrage it incites. Parts of the statement reads as follows:
“This week’s killing of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of ICE agents in Minneapolis was tragic. It has also laid bare the terror that ICE raids are inflicting upon workers and our communities across the country.
“The APWU has received reports that ICE has used at least one postal facility as a staging area for its raids in Minnesota. This isn’t just wrong; it places the health and safety of postal workers and our customers at risk, and we will be addressing it with postal management.
“Our union has long stood for social justice. Instead of terrorizing our neighborhoods, our government should be investing in good jobs, affordable healthcare, and truly safe and strong communities. We demand an end to these dangerous and disruptive ICE raids, and a new politics that works for working people.”
Years ago, another person was killed, this time by a cop, in Minneapolis and that was George Floyd. The recent killing of Good rekindles a similar fear that there could be more victims.
The Hawai’i Tribune Herald published an opinion piece by Jennifer Brooks in which she wrote, “Renne Nicole Good. George Floyd. Different tragedies, but the same grief for a community betrayed by the people who were supposed to protect and serve.”
Brooks notes that community members marched through the streets that five and a half years ago were the same streets that the community protested the Floyd murder.
Brooks quotes Kristi Noem, pretending to be the Homeland Security Secretary–a position she should be fired from–as she tried to make an example of an individual in handcuffs by parading him in front of the cameras. “You will be held accountable for your crimes,” Noem said, but as Brooks writes, “It felt like she was addressing all Minnesotans.”
Regarding Good, Noem falsely claimed that she was a “domestic terrorist.” Members of the right accused Good of trying to run over the very ICE agent that was pointing a gun at her. But footage shows that this was an obvious lie as Good was pulling away from her assailant and did not touch or bump him with her vehicle.
Brooks concluded, “Minneapolis knows that violence is exactly what [the Trump regime] craves.” That is, indeed, true. But, nevertheless, self-defense should not be ruled out when necessary.
Noem has planned to send more ICE agents to Minneapolis, thus adding fuel to the fire. The right has a one-track mind, insanely thinking that hostility and violence are a cure-all for society’s ills.
Noem, Trump and other righties have been mimicking Nazi Germany as they are willing to provoke, intimidate and/or murder anyone who dares to question the regime. This in the “Land of the Free.” But free for whom to do what?
