More Savagery From Trump and Netanyahu

By now it is crystal clear that everyone (except those in denial) sees the actions of Trump and Netanyahu as being savage. Sometimes those who claim to be the most civilized are prone to committing the most savagery.

 

The lies to start a war with Iran bear this out. The rhetoric has been disgusting and pathetic. Trump declared that he is conducting his war to free the Iranian people, to implement regime change, with Iranians  overthrowing the theocratic government.

 

There are more lies from Trump and his regime that were published by Mondoweiss, asserting that they are hardly credible. 

 

While it is true that a theocracy is not actually democratic, most Iranians are not rushing to the barricades to topple the government. In fact, they have come out to support the government to stop and oppose the U.S. empire and its “spoiled child” Israel from continuing the carnage.

 

The Black Agenda Report published an editorial on the Iran war and gave some history on the consequences of U.S. imperialism. The editorial emphasized that the U.S. empire has been on a course of “psychopathology” characterized by white supremacy.

 

One of the more outrageous incidents resulting from the U.S. empire’s and Israel’s airstrikes was the deaths of over 100 Iranian children, ages 7-12 at an elementary school. Left/Progressive sources, which are more reliable than U.S./Western establishment “news” outlets, showed footage of Iranians mourning the dead and a photo also showing preparations for burying them in graves. 

 

The Bullet, a publication of the Socialist Project, provided a statement from The International Alliance in Support of Workers in Iran (IASWI) which went into details about the war crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel against Iran. It made clear that “This destructive war is not about liberating the Iranian people. On the contrary, it distorts, undermines, and destroys the very struggles for freedom, equality, workers’ rights, and social and economic justice in Iran.”

 

The IASWI also mentions Reza Pahlavi, the slime ball son of the deposed Shah of Iran, who lamented that his heart aches for U.S. military personnel killed in the war and their families. Pahlavi shamefully adds that, “Iranians are grateful to Donald Trump for targeting the oppressive regime and providing an opportunity for freedom.” The IASWI condemns Pahlavi for remaining “silent about the massacre of schoolchildren and other civilians.”

 

Pahlavi is a typical U.S. puppet, or kiss-ass, for the empire’s objectives. He would like to gain power in Iran where he would probably be like his father, establishing something equivalent to the Shah’s Savak secret police. 

 

The reality, however, is that he would not attain this goal, as the U.S. empire and Israel are being hit hard by Iranian retaliation. Iran has shot missiles targeting U.S military bases in the Middle East and has also targeted Israel for further strikes against it. Trump and Netanyahu are actually losing this conflict, despite major damage by committed by them.

 

Owen Jones showed a segment on his program asserting that the U.S. is losing the war against Iran. And on the Katie Halper Show, Iranian analyst Sina Toossi gives details where he comes to the same conclusion.

 

So, despite the U.S. empire’s and Israel savagery, Iran will likely not be a victim of regime change. Both have morally destroyed themselves.
