Trump Finds Himself in a Desperate Situation, Begging Other Countries for Help
By David Starr
Donald J. Trump (the J could stand for Jackass) has bitten off more than he can chew regarding his aggression against Iran. And he’s got himself to blame. Then again, Trump never admits that he’s wrong.
Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz and has used its firepower en masse against Israel and U.S. military bases. Countless numbers of missiles and rockets have bombarded the “Holy Land” and has threatened U.S. imperialism.
But Trump and his regime, in heavy denial, have claimed victory over Iran. That’s like George W. Bush and his regime boasting about “mission accomplished” relating to the illegal war against Iraq.
Trump has added on to his long list of crimes with the Iran War. Although he won’t admit it, he, and the U.S. empire in turn, have declined in power and influence in a world that is becoming increasingly multi-polar. And Trump, although he won’t admit it, is desperate.
Thus, his turning to Western Europe and China to try a form a “coalition of the willing” to police the Strait of Hormuz. In reality, as with other things Trump does, it’s a failure. No countries want any part of his war.
Trump tried to get help from other countries to open up the Strait of Hormuz. The answer was no. On Secular Talk, there is a segment about Trump begging for help.
It would not be surprising if Trump made demands to other countries initially. He’s used to getting his own way. And other members of his regime do not get in his way. But with other countries, there’s an attitude of being fed up with Trump’s aggressiveness and incompetence.
Trump, nevertheless, “reached out” to other countries and made demands. After refusals by countries to commit themselves to that imperial debacle, Trump remarked, according to PBS, “Whether we get support or not, but I can say this, and I said to them: We will remember.”
Using a veiled threat, Trump does not know how to comprehend diplomacy. But diplomacy isn’t the issue here. It’s to stop Trump, and Netanyahu, permanently to end the terrorist-like hostilities against Iran and other countries in the Middle East region.
An example of a country’s refusal came from Germany, quoting from PBS, “Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told ARD television: ‘Will we soon be an active part of this conflict? No.’”
Of course, Iran’s refusal to let ships containing oil pass through the Strait of Hormuz has created a panic within the Trump regime and oil executives worldwide. Raising prices of barrels of oil threatens to be bad for the average consumer at the gas pump, as retail prices will rise.
Trump, however, put on his usual show of bravado in the face of a disaster of his own making when he, according to PBS, claimed, “The prices are going to be tumbling down as soon as it’s over. And it’s going to be over pretty quickly.”
Well, given Iran’s determination and firepower, the odds are against Trump that it will be over soon. Iranian leaders and their supporters are not giving up, especially considering that Trump agreed to a ceasefire and then violating it by attacking Iran. Iran, and much of the world, does not trust the U.S. empire’s call for peace while at the same time having the Department of War Crimes Secretary Pete Hegseth continue to make harsh threats.
In The New Republic, “Just two weeks into the war he started, Trump has resorted to begging other countries for assistance in securing the Strait of Hormuz.
“Trump claimed that other regions of the world–such as China–depend more on the Middle East waterway than the U.S. does, and therefore should be leading the charge in reopening the bomb-laden strait.”
Demanding, then, appealing to other countries, Trump claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is their “territory” since they use it to acquire oil and should help and “protect” the strait. But other countries understand of the illegalities of Trump’s war on Iran. And as of this writing, there are no takers.
Iran said that it has selectively let oil tankers go through the Strait of Hormuz but it refuses to allow the U.S. empire and Israel the same convenience. And understandably so.
Besides Germany, Poland, Britain and Spain, for example, have outrightly refused to be involved with policing the strait.
Trump’s Iran war has blown up in his face. But he doesn’t take the blame. And he’s only making it worse on himself.
